Dodgers vs Red Sox predictions
If you’re following the Los Angeles Dodgers lately, it’s impossible to ignore the impact some of their big names are having on their 3-game road win streak. With Clayton Kershaw set to take the mound, I’m expecting him to control the tempo early, likely giving up just a couple of runs over about five solid innings while racking up a handful of strikeouts. The offense, powered by Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith, is firing on all cylinders—Ohtani looks locked in for at least one extra-base hit and may even go deep, while Will Smith should keep his high batting average rolling with another multi-hit game. And don’t sleep on Mookie Betts; his knack for getting on base and creating RBI chances could be the spark the Dodgers need at Fenway.
Shifting to the Boston Red Sox, they’ve got a nice groove going at Fenway Park and can always count on a few bats to make noise. Garrett Crochet gets the starting nod, and his recent outings suggest he can stifle the Dodgers for a few innings, possibly notching around six strikeouts and limiting the damage before turning things over to the bullpen. On offense, keep an eye on Ceddanne Rafaela and Trevor Story—Rafaela should have another solid night at the plate, collecting a hit or two and swiping a bag, while Story has a good shot at driving in a run and flashing some extra-base pop. Wilyer Abreu, with his power stroke, is another threat to leave the yard in this matchup and could easily change the feel of the game with one swing.
When it comes down to it, this one feels like a heavyweight showdown. The Dodgers might have the slight edge given their momentum on the road and some real star power both pitching and hitting, but don’t count out the Red Sox in front of their home crowd—they play tough at Fenway. Still, with Kershaw setting the tone and that Dodgers lineup always poised to erupt, I think Los Angeles keeps their hot streak alive and sneaks out a narrow victory. What do you think—are we in for another classic LA-Boston battle?
