Rockies vs Diamondbacks predictions
If there’s anyone you want to keep your eyes glued on from the Colorado Rockies, it’s Ezequiel Tovar. Talk about riding a hot hand—after coming off a five-hit game, he looks primed to lead the charge at Chase Field. I’m expecting Tovar to put up another multi-hit performance with a good shot at snagging an extra-base hit or two along the way. Around him, Hunter Goodman is another name to watch; he’s been locking in at the dish and should be a factor with both his bat and his ability to drive in runs. Jordan Beck could also be a sneaky power play, potentially sending one over the fence if the matchup feels right. And while the Rockies haven’t exactly lit up the stat sheets this year, there’s always room for one or two hitters to step out and surprise, right? Don’t sleep on Brenton Doyle either—his blend of contact and speed has a way of making things happen, especially in tight games.
Now, when you flip over to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ side, the story shifts to a lineup that’s been showing off some serious depth. Corbin Carroll is electric every time he steps to the plate; with his ability to rack up hits, score runs, and swipe bases, I’d pencil him in for a solid night. Ketel Marte and Josh Naylor are the other big bats I expect to do damage, with both having the knack for coming through in clutch spots and keeping those RBI totals healthy. Oh, and let’s not forget Eugenio Suarez—the way he’s been swinging lately, you wouldn't be shocked if he muscles another one out of the park. Backing all that offensive firepower is Merrill Kelly on the mound. He’s been a consistent force and could easily roll through at least five strong innings, keeping the Rockies lineup guessing and minimizing any major threats.
Given how each roster is shaping up and factoring in Arizona’s home-field advantage at Chase Field, the Diamondbacks feel like the clear favorites to walk away with the win in this faceoff. Their combination of potent bats, disciplined approach, and reliable pitching just seems to be on a different level compared to Colorado right now. Unless the Rockies can channel some of that Tovar-led magic through their whole lineup and get a surprise gem out of their pitching staff, it looks like the D-backs will grab the edge and take control of the series. What do you think—can Colorado pull off the upset, or will Arizona flex their muscle once again?
