Braves vs Red Sox predictions
If you’re keeping an eye on the Atlanta Braves heading into this rubber match at Fenway, there are a few guys who could make a serious impact. Austin Riley, currently rocking a .280 average, is looking dialed in at the plate and is due for a solid day—don’t be surprised to see him notch around 1-2 hits with maybe a double in the mix. Matt Olson has always had that game-changing power, and with 9 home runs under his belt, he’s a safe bet to threaten the Green Monster, possibly sneaking in another big fly and driving in a couple. Marcell Ozuna’s red-hot form lately just adds another threat, and with his knack for timely hits, my guess is he’ll get on base at least once or twice and maybe cross the plate himself.
Switching over to the Boston Red Sox, Alex Bregman continues to impress with a steady .309 average and 11 homers already; I love his chances to come through with at least a hit and perhaps even a deep shot into the Fenway seats. Rafael Devers also looks primed for a bounce-back, likely putting together 1-2 hits of his own and could easily drive in a run or two. Jarren Duran, who brings both speed and pop, might create havoc by notching a couple of hits and is definitely a threat to swipe a bag if he gets on. On the mound, Brayan Bello will have his hands full but seems good for at least five innings and a handful of punchouts to keep Boston in the game.
Now, when it comes down to picking a winner in a clash as close as this, you really have to consider which lineup can break through against the opposing starter and who’s got the sneaky advantage in the later innings. Boston’s been hitting more consistently, especially at home, and if Bello can keep the Braves’ big bats at bay, I like the Red Sox to edge this one out. With that Fenway home energy and a lineup that just finds ways to get on base, Boston looks poised to snag the series win—should be a fun one to watch, don’t you think?
