Red Sox vs Brewers predictions
With the Boston Red Sox looking to break out of their road slump, all eyes are on the lineup to see who can spark some offense at American Family Field. Rafael Devers has been swinging a hot bat lately, so don’t be surprised to see him launch another home run and drive in a couple of runs. Jarren Duran also seems primed for a multi-hit game—he’s been making solid contact and, if he gets on base, could cause some problems for the Brewers on the basepaths. Brayan Bello takes the mound, and if he can keep his walks in check, I’d expect him to notch a handful of strikeouts and keep the Red Sox within striking distance for at least five innings.
Switching gears to the Milwaukee Brewers, there are a few players that definitely deserve some attention in this matchup. Christian Yelich is always a threat in the heart of the order, and I can see him driving the ball into the gap once or twice, maybe even sending one over the wall if Bello makes a mistake. Meanwhile, Brice Turang could be a spark at the top of the lineup—he’s a stolen base machine and looks likely to swipe another if he gets any opportunity. Freddy Peralta has been excellent at home, and with his ability to rack up strikeouts, I’d bet he goes at least five strong innings while limiting the Boston bats.
Considering how this series has played out so far and factoring in the Brewers’ strong record at home, it definitely feels like Milwaukee has the edge. Their aggressive base running and ability to manufacture runs could be the difference, especially against a Red Sox team still trying to put it together away from Fenway. Toss in another steady outing from Peralta, and it looks like the Brewers are in a good spot to lock up another win in front of their home crowd. What do you think—will Boston finally snap that road slide or does the Brew Crew keep rolling?
