Red Sox vs Braves predictions
The Boston Red Sox have a few guys you’ll want to keep your eye on in this series-deciding matchup. Wilyer Abreu has been stringing together some solid at-bats lately, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him notch at least a hit or two, maybe even sneak an RBI in there if the lineup can get rolling early. Rafael Devers, as always, feels like a constant threat—he just has a knack for timely hitting and could easily lead the Sox in RBIs for the night. On the mound, Garrett Crochet gets the nod, and he’s the type of pitcher who can rack up strikeouts in a hurry. If Crochet keeps his command sharp through five or six innings, Red Sox fans have every reason to hope for a strong start.
Looking across the diamond at this Atlanta Braves squad, I’m expecting a couple of their big names to make things interesting. Marcell Ozuna’s bat has been on fire, and he’s exactly the kind of hitter who can deliver in clutch moments—don’t be shocked if he picks up multiple hits and maybe cranks one over the fence. Matt Olson and Austin Riley also stand out as players that could break the game open. Olson’s power is always lurking, and Riley has a habit of bringing runners home from scoring position. Bryce Elder will have to be on his game, but with his decent strikeout numbers, he might just keep Boston hitters guessing into the middle innings.
So, which team gets to take the series? With Boston swinging the bats well and Crochet taking the hill, I’m leaning toward the Red Sox eking out a win, especially with the way Devers can spark the offense. Atlanta is never an easy out and their star hitters mean they’re just a few swings from changing the script, but Boston’s lineup depth and the potential for Crochet to dominate the strike zone could give them just enough of an edge at Truist Park. What do you think—do the Braves have a late rally in them, or is this Boston’s night to shine?
