Diamondbacks vs Tigers predictions
All eyes are on the Arizona Diamondbacks as they fight to break a tough losing streak in this series against the Detroit Tigers. I’m expecting Corbin Carroll to set the tone early—he’s been getting on base with consistency, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he racks up a run and a couple of hits in this matchup. Ketel Marte has also shown some solid form lately; look for him to deliver a multi-hit night and drive in at least one crucial run. Geraldo Perdomo, quietly effective all season, could make his presence felt with at least one extra-base hit. If Eugenio Suarez is back in the lineup despite his finger bruise, he might still swing for the fences and add some much-needed power, possibly notching a home run or giving the D-backs an RBI boost. Of course, Ryne Nelson on the mound will be a key focal point—if he can keep the Tigers’ bats in check and pitch a strong five or six innings, Arizona’s outlook gets a whole lot brighter.
Switching over to the Detroit Tigers, Chris Paddack’s recent outings have been commanding, so I’m betting on him keeping the Diamondbacks’ aggressive offense in check for the first five innings or so. Riley Greene has consistently stepped up in big moments, and I see him getting on base multiple times, maybe even adding another home run to his résumé. Gleyber Torres will be right in the mix as well, likely putting up a couple of base hits and driving in a run to maintain the Tigers’ momentum. Don’t overlook Kerry Carpenter—his knack for timely hits and run production could see him finishing with at least one RBI and a solid shot at crossing the plate. All told, Detroit’s batting order is balanced and confident right now, adding even more pressure on the Diamondbacks’ pitching staff to deliver.
So, who’s taking this one at Comerica Park? The Diamondbacks are hungry to turn their fortunes around, and if their big bats get hot, they’ll make this a close contest. But the Tigers have home field advantage, a deep and dangerous lineup, and a starting pitcher who’s been locking things down. It’s tough to pick against them with how well they’ve been playing lately. While the D-backs have upside, I’m leaning toward the Detroit Tigers extending their series lead and securing another hard-fought win. What do you think—could Arizona pull off an upset, or will Detroit keep rolling?
