Orioles vs Mariners predictions

The Orioles have some intriguing names to watch as they look to keep their win streak rolling against the Seattle Mariners. Ryan O’Hearn’s been one of the few reliable bats in the Baltimore lineup, and with his knack for making solid contact, I wouldn’t be surprised if he racks up another hit or two and maybe drives in a run. I’ve also got my eye on Gunnar Henderson—he’s shown flashes of power lately, and tonight feels like the kind of matchup where he could sneak one over the fence or at least grab an extra-base hit. On the mound, Zach Eflin projects to be efficient through about five innings. If he keeps the walks in check and gets a little run support, the Orioles could be set up nicely heading into the later frames.

Switching over to the Seattle Mariners, this offense has a few heavy hitters who could change the game in a hurry. Cal Raleigh is always a threat with his home run power, and I’d expect him to get a good look or two at Eflin’s pitches. J.P. Crawford, meanwhile, brings some consistency at the plate—look for him to get on base a couple of times and potentially set the table for the rest of the lineup. Pitching-wise, Bryan Woo has been sneaky good, and with the way Baltimore’s bats have cooled off here and there, I see him racking up a handful of strikeouts and keeping the scoreboard in check for Seattle.

As far as picking a winner goes, the Orioles have taken the first two games of the series, but it feels like the Mariners are due for a strong showing at T-Mobile Park. Seattle’s lineup seems poised to break out, and with Woo dealing on the mound, my gut says the Mariners figure out a way to snap Baltimore’s streak and come away with the win tonight. Want to bet against the home crowd? Not me—not when the Mariners have all the pieces coming together at the right time.
