Rangers vs Angels predictions
Looking at the Texas Rangers lineup heading into this matchup, it’s hard not to feel optimistic if you’re a fan. Jacob deGrom on the mound always gives you a fighting chance—he’s got the kind of electric stuff that can silence bats deep into games. I’m seeing Adolis Garcia continuing to drive in runs, probably cashing in with at least one RBI, and Josh Smith showing off that steady bat of his. If Wyatt Langford keeps swinging with power and patience, you shouldn’t be shocked to see him notch a hit or two, maybe even swipe a bag. And with Corey Seager looking sharp lately, he might just club something extra-base and keep the offense humming along.
But don’t sleep on the Los Angeles Angels, especially with Yusei Kikuchi toeing the rubber. He’s shown flashes of dominance and could tally a healthy number of strikeouts tonight if he finds his groove. Taylor Ward’s been crushing it lately, so there’s a real chance he sends one deep—maybe even adds a pair of RBIs to his name before it’s all said and done. Zach Neto has quietly been putting together quality at-bats, and I’m betting on him finding a couple of ways to get on base, possibly crossing home plate himself. If Mike Trout stays patient at the dish and takes what’s given to him, he’s always a threat, whether it’s with his bat or setting the table for the rest of the order.
Now, when it comes down to picking a winner, this matchup is tighter than the standings suggest. The Rangers have an edge with deGrom, but Angel Stadium always seems to give the Angels a little extra juice, especially when their top bats get going. Considering the Angels’ potential for some fireworks at home and Kikuchi’s ability to keep the game close, I’m leaning toward the Angels breaking their skid here. It just feels like this might be the night the stars align in their favor. What do you think—ready to see some drama in Anaheim?
