Giants vs Rockies predictions
Looking at this Giants lineup, there’s a lot to be excited about—especially with Heliot Ramos swinging such a hot bat lately. He’s been finding the gaps and driving in runs, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him notch a couple of hits and maybe even go deep at Coors Field. Wilmer Flores, who’s always clutch with runners on, seems primed to collect an RBI or two and stay busy on the basepaths. Then there’s Hayden Birdsong, the scheduled starter, who’s got just the right blend of strikeout stuff and calm under pressure; I’d expect him to keep Colorado’s bats fairly quiet while racking up some solid strikeout numbers through the middle innings.
On the Rockies side, the offense keeps leaning on Hunter Goodman to spark something in the heart of their order. If anyone is going to break through Birdsong’s approach, it’s Goodman—he’s the kind of hitter who’s sneaky with power and loves taking advantage of his home park. Ryan McMahon could also play a factor with timely walks and an extra-base hit or two, but Colorado’s lineup has struggled to cash in on chances so far this season. As for their starter, Antonio Senzatela, Coors Field isn’t exactly the place a pitcher goes to relax, and I see the Giants lineup making him work hard from the jump.
Considering the matchup, recent form, and how both teams stack up on paper, it’s hard not to give the edge to San Francisco in this one. The Giants are rolling with that seven-game win streak and have handled Colorado pretty comfortably all year. Unless the Rockies’ bats suddenly wake up and get to the bullpen, the Giants look poised to keep the good times going and notch another W on the road.
