Yankees vs Angels predictions
If you’re looking at who to watch when the New York Yankees roll into Angel Stadium, it’s impossible not to start with Aaron Judge. The man’s just been on another level—he’s clubbing homers, drawing walks, and, honestly, just doing everything you want in the heart of a lineup. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him knock in a run or two and swipe a walk or even launch another long ball with the way he’s been locked in. Cody Bellinger should also add some punch, maybe picking up a couple of base knocks and staying aggressive on the paths. Plus, with Clarke Schmidt set to take the hill, the Yankees look sharp on both sides of the ball; I’d bank on him getting through close to six innings, limiting the damage, and piling up a handful of strikeouts to keep that Angels offense in check.
On the flip side, the Los Angeles Angels come in with something to prove, especially with that rough home stretch they’re hoping to snap. Taylor Ward’s been their main man, mashing homers and racking up RBIs, so there’s a good shot he tries to do damage early in the game. Nolan Schanuel keeps finding ways to get on base and can be a bit of a spark plug if he gets hot—don’t be shocked if he tallies a couple of hits and pressures the Yankees’ defense. Yusei Kikuchi is expected to take the mound, and while he’s shown flashes this season, the challenge is real against a potent Yankees lineup. If Kikuchi can keep the ball in the park and dance around a few base runners, he’ll give his team a fighting chance, but he’s going to need the offense behind him to show up in a big way.
So when you put it all together, this matchup feels like one where the New York Yankees keep their momentum rolling. With their bats firing—thanks to Judge and Bellinger—and some solid pitching from Schmidt, the odds are stacked against the Angels to snap their home skid. Of course, baseball has its surprises, but right now, the Yankees look a bit too strong on paper and on the field. Who do you have taking this one?
