Twins vs Orioles predictions
When you’re eyeing the Minnesota Twins lineup heading into this matchup, there’s plenty of reason to keep tabs on Byron Buxton. He’s been swinging a hot bat lately, and I can see him putting up another solid performance with a couple of hits, maybe even driving in a run or two and swiping a bag if he gets on base. Carlos Correa seems like he’s in a good spot to tack on a multi-hit game, and my gut says Trevor Larnach has a chance to make some noise as well, possibly sneaking a ball out of Camden Yards. Plus, with Chris Paddack toeing the rubber, expect him to rack up a respectable handful of strikeouts while giving the Twins a fighting chance deep into the game.
Shifting over to the Baltimore Orioles, Gunnar Henderson stands out as the guy who could spark the team with his bat and speed. He’s been putting up competitive at-bats all season, and there’s a good vibe around his chances for a hit or maybe a double in this one. Cedric Mullins also seems primed for a big night—wouldn’t be surprised if he goes yard or adds a couple RBIs to his total. I’m also watching Adley Rutschman and Ryan O’Hearn to keep the line moving and find themselves on base throughout the game. Tomoyuki Sugano takes the mound for Baltimore, and if he can limit the Twins’ bats and settle in early, he might just keep this one tight for the O’s.
All things considered, this looks like it’ll be a fun, back-and-forth battle. The Orioles might have the edge on paper as the home team and find themselves a slight favorite, but it’s hard to ignore the way the Twins have been rolling on the road recently. If Paddack can deliver and Minnesota’s top of the order stays hot, I like the Twins to keep that win streak alive and snag another victory away from home. What do you think—are the Twins about to make it six straight in the series?
