Dodgers vs Brewers predictions
Looking at the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup heading into American Family Field, there are a few key players to keep an eye on. Mookie Betts should set the tone at the top of the order, likely scoring at least once and picking up a couple of hits—he’s always ready to spark this offense. With Will Smith enjoying a hot stretch recently, I’d expect him to stay steady with a base hit or two and drive in a run. And, of course, Shohei Ohtani has been an absolute beast—don’t be surprised if he rips another home run and swipes a bag, continuing to do a little bit of everything. On the mound, Clayton Kershaw may not have quite the overpowering stuff of his prime, but it’s reasonable to expect a handful of strikeouts and a gritty five innings, limiting the Brewers’ scoring chances.
But Milwaukee fans have plenty to be excited about too, especially with the home crowd behind them. Christian Yelich looks poised to keep up his strong season—one swing and he could take Kershaw deep or at least drive in a big run. Sal Frelick is another guy to monitor; he’s quietly been one of the Brewers’ more effective hitters, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he picks up multiple hits and puts some pressure on the Dodgers’ defense with aggressive baserunning. Starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski is a bit of a wild card, but with his knack for strikeouts and the ability to give Milwaukee solid innings, he could put the Brewers in a position to win, especially if the bullpen holds up its end of the bargain.
With both squads featuring star power and thoughtful pitching matchups, this one feels like a coin flip. Still, the Dodgers are desperate to snap their losing streak, but the Brewers' balanced attack, home record, and sneaky power might give them just enough of an edge. If Yelich and Frelick can get things going early and Misiorowski keeps his composure, Milwaukee could very well take this game and continue to put pressure on the rest of the NL Central. How do you see it playing out?
