Dolphins vs Colts predictions
When you look at the Miami Dolphins heading into their matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium, a few names instantly pop out. Tua Tagovailoa seems poised to put up solid numbers, and I’d expect him to flirt with that 230-yard mark through the air, likely connecting for at least one or two touchdowns. Tyreek Hill is always a game-changer, and this looks like another spot where he racks up chunk yardage—think about 60 or so yards with a good shot at finding the end zone. Don’t sleep on De’Von Achane, either; he should be able to keep the Colts defense honest with his explosiveness, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he breaks off a couple of eye-catching runs and chips in some catches out of the backfield as well.
For Indy, the offensive story feels like it will run straight through Jonathan Taylor. I’d expect him to set the tempo with north of 70 rushing yards and maybe hit paydirt once. The quarterback situation is always one to monitor for the Colts, but whether it’s Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson taking snaps, neither should be expected to light up the stat sheet—think efficient but conservative passing with around 100 yards, maybe a touchdown toss at best. Michael Pittman and Josh Downs are the primary targets to watch; both should get their fair share of looks, and one of them probably crosses the 40-yard mark, making them intriguing X-factors.
As these two teams go toe-to-toe, there’s every reason to believe this will be a battle that comes down to a handful of key plays. The Colts, slight favorites at home, definitely have the ground game to control the clock, but the Dolphins’ speed and firepower on offense give them a real puncher’s chance. With Tua distributing the ball and Hill capable of flipping the field in seconds, I see Miami holding the edge in playmaking, while the Colts counter with grit and steady production. When it comes down to it, I’m leaning towards the Colts pulling out a close win at home—but it’s going to be tight, and nobody should be shocked if the Dolphins make it interesting right to the final whistle.
