Panthers vs Jaguars predictions
If you’re tuning in for the Panthers, keep a close eye on Bryce Young as he works to make his mark under center. I’m expecting him to be tasked with around 30 attempts, pushing to throw for nearly 200 yards. The ground game gets interesting with Chuba Hubbard likely leading the way, approaching 60 rushing yards and even having a decent shot at finding the end zone. Don’t sleep on rookie Tetairoa McMillan—he should see plenty of targets and might crack 50 receiving yards, while Adam Thielen’s experience could come into play in key third-down situations, helping move the chains with a handful of catches.
Jacksonville’s got their own exciting storylines lined up, and Trevor Lawrence is right at the heart of it. I see him taking a pretty active role—230 to 250 passing yards is totally within reach, along with a couple of touchdown passes if he gets in rhythm early. The wideout crew features some explosive guys, with Brian Thomas Jr. poised for a breakout and possibly leading all receivers with over 70 yards and a score. Travis Etienne will likely factor in both as a runner and pass catcher, looking at maybe 60 combined yards. The Jags’ offense has that balanced look that can keep the Panthers’ defense guessing all afternoon.
When it’s time to pick a winner, it feels like Jacksonville has a slight home-field edge with their overall depth and a bit more consistency at key positions. Carolina’s got its playmakers and some breakout potential, but unless they get a lights-out day from their young quarterback, I think the Jaguars manage to grind out a close one at EverBank Stadium. What do you think—are we in for some surprises, or does Jacksonville handle business as expected?
