Hawks vs Grizzlies predictions
The Atlanta Hawks are eagerly eyeing their upcoming clash against the Memphis Grizzlies, with standout performances anticipated from key players. All eyes will be on Trae Young, the dynamo point guard who's been day-to-day with Achilles Tendinitis but still manages to pack a punch. I'm thinking Trae could drop something like 25 to 30 points, given his average, and keep those assists pouring in with double-digit numbers. However, with Jalen Johnson sidelined due to a shoulder injury, the team will be looking towards Dyson Daniels to step in and help round out those stats. Daniels has the potential to pull off a solid double-double, contributing crucial points and assists. The X-factor could be Onyeka Okongwu's work in the paint; he might snag over ten boards, and his defensive presence could turn heads with a couple of blocks.
Over on the Memphis Grizzlies' side of things, it's impossible to ignore the sizzling form of Jaren Jackson Jr., fresh off a mind-blowing 42-point performance. Jackson's on a roll and could very well keep that momentum, delivering something in the ballpark of 20 to 25 points. His ability to dominate defensively with blocks is always a game-changer too. Ja Morant, albeit dealing with some shoulder soreness, usually brings that electric energy with scoring and playmaking prowess, so expect him to pile on points and assists. Desmond Bane might not be left behind either, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him flirting with a near 20-point game. With strong rebounding from Zach Edey, who’s a bit of a beast on the boards, Memphis looks sharp.
As for tipping the scales and calling the eventual winner of this showdown, the edge might just lean towards the Memphis Grizzlies. With them leading the regular-season series against Atlanta, playing at home with an impressive 22-8 record, and riding the high of Jackson's recent performance, they seem poised for another victory. However, if Trae Young can rally his teammates and onscreen his scoring prowess, the Hawks could definitely make things interesting. But if I had to put my chips on the table, Memphis just seems to have that extra spark and home-court advantage to clinch the win this time. What do you think?
