Diamondbacks vs Rockies predictions
Keep your eye on the Arizona Diamondbacks’ lineup in this series opener—the bats have been waking up lately, and I’m expecting big things from a few key names. Corbin Carroll, one of their more dynamic hitters, looks primed to spark the offense with a multi-hit game, possibly adding an extra-base knock and maybe even going deep. Ketel Marte, always a threat near the top of the lineup, could easily rack up a couple of hits and drive in a run or two. You know when Zac Gallen is on the mound, the D-backs are feeling good, and he’s in line for another solid start; I’m thinking at least five innings, keeps the earned runs down, and racks up more than a handful of strikeouts.
Switching over to the Colorado Rockies, it’s Hunter Goodman who stands out as the bat to watch. Goodman’s been one of the more consistent threats for the Rockies, and I’d bet on him stringing together a couple of base knocks—maybe even connecting for a timely homer if the Coors Field air is cooperating. Ryan McMahon’s power potential always brings excitement, so don’t be surprised if he adds an extra-base hit and nudges a couple of runs across the plate. Pitching-wise, Austin Gomber will have his hands full, but if he can navigate through five solid innings and limit the Diamondbacks’ top producers, he’ll give Colorado a fighting chance.
Looking at how both teams have been playing, the Diamondbacks seem to have a little more momentum coming into this one. Their lineup’s just been more productive overall, and with Zac Gallen toeing the rubber, Arizona has a clear pitching edge. While the Rockies always have that Coors Field factor to bank on, Arizona’s recent form and balanced attack should be enough to push them over the line in the series opener. So, if you’re picking a winner, I’d lean toward the Diamondbacks taking game one in Denver. What’s your call?
