Lynx vs Valkyries predictions
All eyes are on the Minnesota Lynx right now—and for good reason. Sitting undefeated at 6-0, they've looked nearly untouchable, with Napheesa Collier leading the charge in superstar fashion. Collier is tallying close to 27 points per game, and even with her “day-to-day” status, there’s every reason to believe she’ll make a major impact if she hits the court. Alongside her, Courtney Williams has been excellent at facilitating, finding open shooters and racking up nearly seven assists a night, so expect her to keep setting the pace. And let’s not overlook Jessica Shepard, who continues to control the glass with authority. A double-digit rebound night from Shepard wouldn’t be shocking, especially against Golden State’s relatively young roster.
Over on the Golden State Valkyries’ side, you know the squad will be hungry for a statement performance, especially playing at the Chase Center. Janelle Salaun is the name fans will want to watch—she’s become the team’s go-to scorer as well as a dominant force on the boards, looking like someone who could put together a double-double if she finds her rhythm early. Veronica Burton is steadily growing into her playmaker role, and if she can push her assist numbers and keep turnovers low, the Valkyries might find themselves with more open looks than usual. Still, facing a defense as tough as the Lynx’s is no easy feat, so Golden State’s young stars will need laser focus to hang in for four quarters.
With all the momentum riding on Minnesota’s shoulders, and considering their perfect record—home or away—it’s tough to pick against them. The Lynx have been a well-oiled unit on both sides of the ball, and even if Golden State gets an early spark from their home crowd, Minnesota’s veteran poise should give them the edge as the game wears on. Barring a surprise performance from the Valkyries, look for the Lynx to keep their undefeated streak alive after this one. What do you think—can Golden State pull off the upset, or will the Lynx march on?
